Chosen Winner American Illustration Awards AI45/2026 Editorial Category
Honoured again to be selected for the American Illustration Awards as a Chosen Winner in the Editorial Category with my cover image for the Washington Post Arts & Style Section article on the Silver Surfer “The Silver Age”. Examining the current cultural relevance of the Silver Surfer as a superhero of our times – confused, lost, outraged, isolated he is an exiled humanoid alien who wanders the cosmos in search of meaning in the same way so many of us search for meaning in the digital abyss. The illustration aimed to capture that loneliness lost in the vastness of space!
A fantastic project with free rein to enjoy creating the wonders of space on his epic journey!
