beat 6 published – collaborative book project in conjunction with Eland publishing
just back from the printers beat 6 published by heart. this is a collaborative book project in conjunction with Eland book publishers and is a much nicer way of producing promotional work by the agency. all illustrations are produced in response to inspirational excerpts from Eland publications with mine being ” The Law” by Roger Vailland which was a great story to work on especially the scene where a gang of boys ” the guaglioni” terrorise a village festival by painting their faces red with mulberries and charge through the streets at night. It formed a surreal image while reading it that I really wanted to capture.
for the second image I really wanted to capture the hot, dusty town in the early evening sunset with intense colours and heat as the dance begins with the two leaders of the guaglioni looking on planning their moves for the evening..
